LOU COX

Lou Cox is a manager and lecturer at University Centre South Essex teaching on the BA (Hons) Costume Construction degree run in collaboration with the Royal Ballet and Opera.  With a teaching career spanning over 20 years, she specialises in both costume and fashion with an emphasis on pattern cutting and garment construction.

​

Lou is has an MRes in Creative Practice from the University of Westminster where her research focused on the intersection between pattern cutting and data visualisation.

​

Her work is multifunctional with an intention to be inclusive and collaborative.  Via creative pattern cutting, Lou's work functions as data visualisations, sculptural art pieces, portraits and archives documenting the collaborators lived COVID-19 experiences through mark making and audio accounts.
