Lou Cox is a lecturer at University Centre South Essex and is the Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Costume Construction degree run in collaboration with the Royal Opera House.  With a teaching career spanning over 20 years, she specialises in both costume and fashion with an emphasis on pattern cutting and garment construction.

Lou is currently undertaking an MRes in Creative Practice at the University of Westminster where her work focuses on the intersection between pattern cutting and data visualisation.

The work is multifunctional with an intention to be inclusive and collaborative.  Via creative pattern cutting, her works function as data visualisations, sculptural art pieces, portraits and archives documenting the collaborators lived COVID-19 experiences through mark making and audio accounts.
